Oscar Predictions

Although I haven't seen many of the nominated movies, I'm going to try my best to guess what is going to win in each category.

1) Best Actor: Heath Ledger/Brokeback Mountain
2) Supporting Actor: Jake Gyllenhall/Brokeback Mountain
3) Best Actress: Keira Kneightly/Pride and Prejudice (I actually saw this one and thought she did a great job)
4) Supporting Actress: Rachel Weisz/The Constant Gardener
5) Director: CRASH
6) Best Picture: Brokeback Mountain (note that the nominations are the same for director and best picture)
7) Best Animated Feature: Corpse Bride (I think that this will win though it's a close try with Miyazaki's movie because he is also an amazing director
8) Original Screenplay: CRASH (umm... what's a screenplay? the story?)
9) Adapted Screenplay: The Constant Gardener
10) Original Score: Memoirs of a Geisha (My fingers decided for me because my mind wanted to put down Pride and Prejudice)
11) Original Song: In The Deep/CRASH (It sounds like the type of song that wins an Oscar)

Powerpoint Reflection

In class I had to practice my skills in Powerpoint by making a 6-slide presentation about some aspect of the history of computers. I decided to do the Enigma and Colossus computers that were used in World War II. I'm not a war freak but the information that I learned was very interesting.
In this project, I learned that continuous backgrounds aren't necessarily boring but they can enhance your information. I also learned about the rule of 6: 6 points per slide, 6 words per point. Even though, I didn't follow the rule of 6 in my presentation, I learned it well and now I'm going to keep it in mind every time I make a Powerpoint presentation.

Desert Island Discs

If I were stuck on a desert island and I had to pick 8 CD's to take with me, they would be:
1) Revolver-The Beatles (because I love the Beatles and Revolver is my favorite CD of theirs)
2) The White Album-The Beatles (because I love the Beatles and Revolver is my second favorite CD of theirs)
3) X&Y-Coldplay (because they are very relaxing and I might need to relax)
4) Demon Days-Gorillaz (I love the Gorillaz because their music is very varied and different)
5) Donde Jugaran Los Niños-Mana (Mana is one of my favorite bands and I should probably have some Spanish music)
6) Fabio Concato (because I like Italian Pop)
7) The Best of the Red Hot Chili Peppers (I'm currently obsessed with this band even though I don't own the CD yet)
8) Supernatural-Santana (Santana's music is amazing and it would remind me of urban landscapes)

If I could only take one book, it would be the book I'm reading now, Eldest, because it would torture me to not know what happens.

If I could only take one luxury, it would be a machete so that I could cut coconuts from the palm trees.
